After graduating from Lambrick Park Secondary School, Davis relocated to Montréal, Québec to pursue his studies in fashion design. As a design student at LaSalle College, he was the recipient of Montréal's highest fashion honour: the Montréal Fashion Foundation's Design Student of the Year Award. Yet with his sights set on Europe, he would eventually have to turn down the award after his candidature was accepted by the renowned Studio Berçot in Paris.
Under the guidance of fashion industry veteran Marie Ruckie, Davis' strength in design would later lead to collaborations with several Paris-based fashion houses as well as mentorships with journalists from Vogue Uomo Italia and L'Officiel magazine.
It was a incidental meeting with a menswear designer, however, that solidified Davis' future in the fashion industry. In July 2007, he was introduced to American fashion designer Geoffrey Small. After collaborating with Small on several collections, Davis went on to design his first menswear collection under the Paul Davis label in July 2009.
Today, the Paul Davis label operates from its studio and office in Berlin, Germany.
